Who We ARe

Kinfield Studio is a family design studio dedicated to bespoke upholstery.

Founded by two sisters, Annabel and Lucy, Kinfield Studio was born from our search for timeless, stylish pieces for our homes that were made with natural materials friendly for our young families.

We believe in a considered, sustainable production process. Every piece is handmade to order in our studio outside Edinburgh, using natural materials like wool, coir and cotton wherever possible.

We love working with our clients to design the perfect piece and can help you source fabrics and see what works for your space.

We believe furniture should be made to last, quietly gathering stories in our homes for years to come.

FAQs

  • We’re very careful about what we put into our homes and use natural materials wherever possible.

    We use traditional, naturally fire resistant wool wadding and rubberised coir as an alternative to standard chemically treated upholstery foam.

  • Finding a fabric to take centre stage in your home can be difficult, there are so many beautiful ones to choose from! We offer a fabric consultation service where we work with you to design your dream piece, helping you to source beautiful, timeless fabrics and contrasting piping fabric.

    If you already have the perfect fabric you’d like to use, just have it sent to us once we’ve confirmed your order and how much is needed.

  • Easy - send us a message and let us know what you’d like! If you can’t find an exact match just let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll work with you to design your dream piece.

    Once we’ve confirmed your order we’ll get to work hand-making your item. All pricing for our standard sized items is in the product details. We ask for payment in full before beginning production.

    We’ll let you know when your order is ready and on it’s way!

  • Yes! Just get in touch and we’ll work with you to create your dream piece.

  • We make everything by hand and to order. Please allow a production lead time of 4 weeks once we have confirmed your order and received your fabric.

  • We have a flat shipping fee of £50 to mainland UK for all headboards and footstools, using a trusted 2-man delivery service.

    If you live locally, you’re welcome to arrange for collection from our studio just outside Edinburgh.
